Creating ∝ Breathing

Creating is proportional to breathing. You know why? Because the two being proportional means that when one changes in quantity, the other will change right with it. Basically, I’m saying that if I’m not creating, then I’m not breathing. And since breathing is generally (generally because it almost always is) associated with life, if I’m not creating, I’m not living.

Hi, I’m Meg!

Well, my full name is Megumi Shinagawa. But please, call me Meg! I’m a creator based in Tokyo, Japan. I call myself a creator because I realized that what I do can’t be confined to a single medium.  Yes, I’m an artist – I love to draw and paint. Yes, I’m a writer – I love writing to present my thoughts in a coherent matter to the rest of the world (because let’s face it, my mind is a total jumble of chaos without this physical medium). Yes, I’m a poet – I love to express my emotions and feeling through cryptic word paintings of what they do to me. This is just the tip of the iceberg, but you get the point: I’m a creator, free of the confinements of being tied down to a single medium.

Enough about me though,

What can you get out of this page? Well to get into that you should know that I’m a senior in high school, which means that there’s a lot of BIG life changes headed my way. But even in the midst of all this school life chaos, I want to continue to create and share what I create. So take what you will from this page – life lessons, food for thought, encouragement – but what I hope, you’ll get out of it is INSPIRATION. Inspiration to dream of what you want to do in life, to be more authentic to yourself, and to have the courage to make it happen.

So if this sounds like your cup of tea, join me on this journey to create as much as I am breathing.
